This segment has been inserted at the behest and guidance of my daughter as she has been insistent that the facilities for kids should be well defined. For the Kiddies there is a chota Hazri (Most boarders would know) early in the morning with a hot beverage and cookies, post which the bacha party can help with the cleaning of the Chicken coop, collecting eggs and be in the gardens, where they can help the Gardner by tending to the flower beds and the kitchen gardens. Pluck veggies if they are ripe. Get all muddy and dirty. The Baccha party ( Along with an adult) can then stroll down to the Kempty Falls for a rejuvenating early morning natural bath under the gushing water fall (Please carry your swim wear) and return for a hearty breakfast (Eggs collected by them are to be cooked by them preferably by the fathers). Post breakfast, on one day you can plan an excursion to the Yamuna that is at a drive of about 25 minutes and splash around in the river. A picnic basket can be arranged and carried from the Cottage. Fathers can fish for fresh Water trout (Carry your rods, or else ask the dhaba wala there to lend you his ) and if lucky the same can be prepared in the kitchen and served for dinner, if not so lucky you can buy some fish there itself. Parents can try Water rafting (Seasonal).
You return in the evening exhausted to a cup of hot chocolate and cake, have a nice hot water bath and rest your little feet for a while in the Brigadiers lounge playing charades…… or any other game of your choice. (No Chota bheem please). In the evening you can sit on the terrace under the stars and we will provide you with a bar-be-que pit all lit up and smouldering. Elders can grill the food of your choice (Chicken tikkas, botis, tandoori chicken, paneer tikkas etc can be carried along with you – We usually pick up all this in Dehradun on the way up) while the elders enjoy their evening drink. Post dinner you can have another round of hot chocolate as you cosy into your beds tucked in your comforters listening to the gurgling stream, the hoot of a barn owl and the occasional barking of the barking deer. Next morning you follow the routine, then you guys can drive up to the Bungalow ki Kandi (Our small cute village ) and visit Naresh Bhaiyas house, here you can visit the apple and Walnut orchards, play in the water ways, visit the old ate ki chakki (Ask your parents what this is) and have a hearty traditional meal with Naresh Bhaiya and his two sons and three doggies. In the evening, we can light up a bon fire for you kids to sit along while you wait for your dinner…. The third day can be spent visiting the Mall road in Mussoorie for shopping along with mummy… Remember there is no limit to the fun you can have outdoors, you can trek to the old temple, go horse riding if the horses are available, stroll down to the brook just below the property But you have to promise. NO TV. By the way in case you have your own doggy you can get him along too… if Zorawar , Zorri and Jack (Our doggis) are there you can meet them to….
