The Brigadiers Cottage – Your Boutique Pet friendly Homestay - is located at a five minutes’ walk from the famous Kempty falls and the Kempty bazaar, The cottage is completely surrounded in a thick wooded area, surrounded with a well landscaped garden, The deodars and the gurgling sound of the Kempty river flowing below. The brigadier’s cottage – Your Boutique Pet friendly Homestay - is owned by a family whose history is steeped in the Army and so the cottage was designed to be a manor of a retired Brigadier with a huge lounge, complete with a fireplace and huge scenic picture widows where one can spend time curled up with a good book from our well stocked library, sipping great English tea, sit around the fire place with family and friends, mull over the chess board or other indoor games or simply gaze at nature.
Each of the rooms overlook the valley and you get up in the morning to the chirping of the birds and gurgling sound of the brook flowing nearby, those with religious inclinations, can take to meditation and yoga in the temple located within the estate, listening to soft Indian ragas playing in the background as you take in your dose of unpolluted, clean, fresh and crisp mountain air. The terrace offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the forests, the windows allowing for the sunlight to filter in while you cosy up for the day besides your own personal sigri. The barbecue and bon fire areas allow for one to sit by the fire under the starry sky to grill the food of your choice while you spend your time mulling over your drink with family and friends.

The cottage has a 10 seater dining hall that exudes old world charm and comes with an open kitchen where you can ask the caretaker to arrange your meals, alternately meals can be had in the open on the terrace or around a bar be que under a star lit night on the terrace.
Room service can be arranged for special cases but being your home in the mountains we would rather you came out of your rooms and spent time with nature (In case your cook / batman / servant is travelling with you, we allow for him/her to prepare your food to your liking and help in service if you so desire,
however you would need to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the other diners.)
How to Reach
The Brigadier’s Cottage – Your Boutique Pet friendly Homestay is very conveniently located near the Kempty Falls and one can reach there thru Mussoorie, on a scenic road. On the way, you would cross the Mussoorie International School located about 10 minutes away and the J.W.Marriot that is about 5 minutes from your boutique Home.
The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which lies approximately 65 kilometres away, and offers daily connectivity with New Delhi. Thereon, follow the state highway (known as the New Mussoorie Road) to Kempty via mussoorie, the Mussoorie international school and the J.W.Marriot.
There are numerous trains connecting New Delhi with Dehradun, such as the Shatabdi Express (as well as the Jan Shatabdi Express), the Mussoorie Express, and the Nizamuddin AC Special. The latter two trains are overnight trains. The journey lasts approximately 5.5 hours, depending on the train chosen. All the above mentioned trains pass through Haridwar. Thereon, follow the state highway (known as the New Mussoorie Road) to Kempty via mussoorie, the Mussoorie international school and the J.W.Marriot.
A scenic drive no matter where you approach it from, Kempty via mussoorie makes for a great road trip. When travelling from Delhi, you need to take NH58 till Roorkee (via Meerut and Muzzafarnagar), and NH72-A till Dehradun. Thereon, follow the state highway (known as the New Mussoorie Road) to Kempty via mussoorie, the Mussoorie nternational school and the J.W.Marriot. Not sure of best route to Kempty from your city. Search it on route planner.
Transportation in Kempty
Book a taxi if you wish to visit places in and around Kempty. You can also opt for a full day of sightseeing to nearby places.
Contact Neetu in case you need airport/ Railway station pick up and drop or a vehicle for day use etc. (P.N. During peak seasons, due to high traffic on the Mussoorie Kempty Road, Via the J.W.Marriot and the Mussoorie International School, it is advisable to reach the cottage by 10 AM or After 4 PM.)
